Actually the MacBook Pro webcam even though it stayed at 720p for years now, was better back on the old retina MacBook Pro form factor (2012-2015) than the current 2016+ ones. I compared my 2013. Because Apple goes out of its way to maintain its reputation for NOT bowing down to worthless spec wars, but worrying about real life performance. The camera is for FaceTiming, not for taking amazing photographs.
